Historic Houses in South Carolina

There are twenty-eight buildings listed on the National Register of Historic Places in Sumter County, located in the middle of the state.There are five traditional southern plantations on the list, and Millford Plantation is generally regarded as the finest historic house in the state – and also one of the finest examples of Greek Revival architecture in the country.
